Blogging Experience

For me it was very interesting having to write in English, because when you write like this, just about things you like or thoughts you have you can discover your true skills, and it may be more than you know. Blog to blog you get loose and you can even start to think in English as you write, you're getting faster to bring up different subjects that in Spanish is so easy to talk about but in English you can't find the words. My parents use to tell me that the best way to improve your vocabulary and grammar is to read, and I think writing also helps a lot, because you practice, you have to go deep into your memory and find the words, because even thoug we live in a country where the language is Spanish we are exposed to English all the time and every day appears new english words in our every day vocabulary, (for example call the mall "shopping").
Well but write a blog is funny, is like a diary, in the future I would like to have a blog to share all kind of stuff, maybe poems, short stories, draws or essays, you can even upload books, share interesting articles or links to important information. Is like having you own paper and your are the director, editor and writer.
About the blog as a teaching tool, I find it interesting, and the questions about the topics that you gave us help a lot to organize the information, to edit.

How I use facebook

At the beginning I was suspicious. People were starting to use facebook and it was really strange to give so much personal information away in a public page on the internet, I heard somewhere that the tool, the social network was invented by the CIA and if you think about it is an exellent tool to control us and know all about our lives. So I refused to go into the network and laughed a little at the people who would go and voluntarily upload to internet all of their personal information, giving them self away to the police!
But then a couple of really good friends of mine who recently when away to study in Argentina started to ask me to go into the network, they say: you can only give the information that you want to, it can be false, and you can chat to people, share different contents as pictures, videos, etc. It will be like seing each other in person, and I insisted on sending them mails, they never wrote back...
So one day I make one, but just to talk with these two persons, and we talked, now I look back and think we talk the same that when we wrote each other e-mails: not much. But I get to see pictures and feel like I'm participating a little in their lives.
When I was already in, of course started to appear many people who would like to be my friend on facebook, at the beginning a didn't accept any of them but finally I fell into it.
Is demanding because when you are online is in a way to be present in some kind of space when you are surrounded by your friends, and you get to look at their stuff but you don't have to expose yourself in any moment so is a mask, you get couragius. Also and the most important now a days is that is a real good place to talk about job or to show your work.

My favourite writer

One of my favourite writers is Julio Cortazar, he in a french- argentinian writer born in Belgium in 1914. He was born in belgium and lived there until the age of four when his family moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina. The interesting thing about his work are his short stories and the poetic prose. He plays with time and in his stories the time is no linear, it reminds surrealism and magic realism. Another characteristic is the way Cortazar finishes his short stories, it begins in a way and finishes in unexpected ways; like in "La noche boca arriba" you start reading about a person from our time who had an accident on his motorcycle and in the hospital start to dream about an ancient azteca who is fighting in the "guerras floridas" and in the end you discover that who is really having the dream is not the motocyclist, is the aztecan warrior! Or the "Continuidad de los parques" here the character is reading a book and at the end appears de character from the book and caught him. He can weave different layers in his stories making an extraordinary fantastic and mysterious world full of poetry.
My favorite books are "Bestiario" and "Todos los fuegos el fuego", here are short stories and "Rayuela" that is a novel, and a very interesting one: you can read it in at least two different ways, in the normal one from page one to the last or in an different order thar the author propose in the beginning of the book; in this novel you can find a mix between the story of the love of Horacio and la maga in Paris, articles about music, literature, make up languages, and the storie of Horacio in Argentina, and in the end is all mixed up.
Cortazar also liked jazz very much.

Contemporary art and capitalism.

Today I will talk about the article "contemporary art is a fraud" written by the Mexican writer and art critic Avelina Lesper; she works in the mass media and was dicector in the tv show "El Milenio Visto por el Arte". I find this article interesting for many reasons, first of all, her meaning of art: she says that contemporary art is backed up by the unreal, and lack of esthetic values. She compares art with religious dogma. Second of all, She refers to contemporary art as an art made by capitalism. When she talks about the unreal we have to think about the word crisis in 2008, how debts grew so big that one day there was no real money behind them, as an example of this she reminds an art piece by Martin Creer (a toilet-paper tower) that costs $90.000 euros, maybe in our world someones piece becomes art when you put a high price on it. In other hand, about the esthetic values, we can think in old artists like painters who actually paint or sculptors who made the pieces themselves and think about the work, the talent, you can even read behind the object a piece of the artist who said something through. I think this ideas are important because is important than art can be able to "talk" by itself and have no need to call an expert to put some works on a random object. And an I think than an artist must be able to make things himself and not depend on other people (who you hace to pay too) and also because when you work yourself you are using your body and mind (and soul) together and that you can tell when you see an exhibition.

The kind of films liked and I watching everydays is the animation films and the artistic films, documentary (artist or fiction) I like and I see a lot of movies, but, the films provide a new think or point of view are really important for you and a like that. Jan Svankmajer, he is a director who used stop motion techniques to make his films, has made some short films that are fun and interesting, from some years has become one of my favourite directors, he is not just film director, has an artist for the materials he used. The topics will be his works have varied, but all are in line with a very strong surrealism.  This director and artist has made films on different thematic and they included different elements: ceramic, porcelain dolls, clothes, paper and others… he is the autonomous artist. I love the surreal world of Svankmajer films, I think nobody has been table to create such a bizarre and beautiful world, for example in the short film “darkness light darkness” he utilising the human body, separate in parts, one for one to all forms become a life and there live and communicated in the story, everything at this world is absoluty magic a surrealist… he is crazy!
