Contemporary art and capitalism.

Today I will talk about the article "contemporary art is a fraud" written by the Mexican writer and art critic Avelina Lesper; she works in the mass media and was dicector in the tv show "El Milenio Visto por el Arte". I find this article interesting for many reasons, first of all, her meaning of art: she says that contemporary art is backed up by the unreal, and lack of esthetic values. She compares art with religious dogma. Second of all, She refers to contemporary art as an art made by capitalism. When she talks about the unreal we have to think about the word crisis in 2008, how debts grew so big that one day there was no real money behind them, as an example of this she reminds an art piece by Martin Creer (a toilet-paper tower) that costs $90.000 euros, maybe in our world someones piece becomes art when you put a high price on it. In other hand, about the esthetic values, we can think in old artists like painters who actually paint or sculptors who made the pieces themselves and think about the work, the talent, you can even read behind the object a piece of the artist who said something through. I think this ideas are important because is important than art can be able to "talk" by itself and have no need to call an expert to put some works on a random object. And an I think than an artist must be able to make things himself and not depend on other people (who you hace to pay too) and also because when you work yourself you are using your body and mind (and soul) together and that you can tell when you see an exhibition.
